Give yourself Grace
Words to live by? Give yourself Grace
What is/are your significant life events? Let’s just say an advocate for children’s rights and justice reform.
What useful and attainable resources did you find helpful? I found a wonderful organization out of New York, KKC Cares, a support group, that has helped me stay grounded. Kansas Legal Services guided me through the court process. New Leaf Counseling helped me process my marriage and move on. I truly believe in the mission behind Broken Wings Ranch.
What advice would you give to others? It takes time to process. There’s too much to know and a lot of unanswered questions and missing pieces. Give yourself grace. Give yourself flexibility. Reach out to others to find the information that you need. Learn not to be so afraid. You can learn just as much if not more from those who have walked in the shoes you’re walking in.
What do you find inspiring? I am so inspired by my oldest daughter’s love for art and jewelry making. My youngest loves tap and jazz. My youngest tapped “We’re not going to take it!” It was so empowering. Last year, she tapped “footloose”. It’s so happy and uplifting. I am not afraid to seek help so my kids can continue to have positive childhood experiences, keep our house, and live in stability.
What’s next for you? I’ll continue to make peace and a safe space. I am moving forward with the divorce and officially starting Soaring Onward, LLC after years in the making.
