Description: The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is a component of the U.S. Department of Justice. OVW implements the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and provides national leadership on the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. VOWA creates and supports comprehensive, cost-effective responses to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking under the federal violence Against women’s act. Victim’s can be reliable to become lawful permanent residents due to being a victim of battery or extreme cruelty committed by a US citizen spouse or former spouse.
